independence from pippin

~Independence From Pippin~

I, rita murjani, would like to declare my independence from Mr. Pippin. Mr. Pippin is a master whom I can live under no longer. There comes a time in every persons life when they need to be free from their leader and for me that time is now, it has arrived. I am ready to spread my wings and fly. This is why I wish to be free from the tyranny of master pippin.

I believe everyone must take chances in their life and under rule of pippin this is not even imaginable. He is a cruel tyrant who will not let us take any risks in our lifetime. We only live once… now is the time to live life to the fullest and under rule of pippin this is just not possible.

Mr. Pippin does not want us to have any life. He piles on homework every night to an extent that is not possible unless you choose to suffer from sleep deprivation. (For all of you whom are wondering yes, I currently suffer from sleep deprivation)

He follows a strict standard, which he refuses to alter. He will not even listen to your suggestions because he feels he is the wisest one. He feels he is so wise because of his experiences in life that can “only come with age.” That by the way is a fallacy~ appeal to age. He is assuming that because he is older than we are he knows more. Who is he to tell us how much we know or don’t know?

He claims he will let us debate topics in class but when we try to he cuts us off in the middle of a sentence and tells us to “ put it on the forum… we don’t have time in class.”

He gives us confusing assignments and then laughs at us when we get it wrong or when the light bulb finally goes off in our mind.

He does not give us enough time in class to work on assignments; he then tells us he will put the information on his website but doesn’t. When it is time for a notebook check he then expects us to have it completed. We try to explain why it is not complete but he still gives us a bad grade.

He follows a test standard that is too high. He expects perfect scores from all of us but doesn’t help us at all. He does not believe in study guides or review games.

This all concludes that our current master, pippin, is a cruel and heartless tyrant who enjoys watching us suffer. In fact I believe he finds it quite entertaining.

Many prior attempts have been made to try and prevent this cruel tyranny but there has been no easing on his cruel ways. His ways have only become more and more heartless.

We have begged and pleaded for some sympathy, we have begged and pleaded for some mercy but his cruel ways have only continued. We have talked to the master privately and individually outside of the class but his thick headedness will always prevail.

I, rita murjani, am requesting my need for independence from the cruel ways of Mr. Pippin. By ratifying this document we will be able to spread our wings and fly. We will be responsible for our own methods of study. Our homework assignments will be as necessary and not more than that. We will discuss and debate topics as we see fit based on importance. We will set up two classes every month that are only for the mere purpose of debating. We will take the acquirement of knowledge of American government as our own responsibility. We will no longer need the rule of a master over us supervising and regulating everything we do. I, Rita Murjani, pledge my dedication to the gain of knowledge and all things governmental.

essay 2

~Essay 2~

~THE ECONOMIC SYSTEM~

The economic system of murjanica will be quite simple actually. The economy is currently in a good condition but as we all know these things can change with time. Let us begin by asking, “what is an economy and what is its purpose?” in the following essay we will answer these questions along with others and give vivid descriptions.

What is an economy? An economy is a combination of activities based on and/or related to the production, distribution, exchange and consumption of goods and services. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy What is its purpose? An economic system will deal with domestic affairs, regulate and supervise household matters, and deal with matters concerning the monetary system. http://www.brainydictionary.com/words/ec/economy158250.html

The monetary system will be based on the amount of kindness and sweet items we have it the nation of murjanica. For example, if many people happen to be going through a “mean streak” at the same time the exchange rate will be less. Currently one narf is worth 7.56 euros. (There will be one hundred narf cents in one narf) So as you can tell we are a very kind nation at this moment in time. When the narf becomes worth less the items sold in retail shops and boutiques will be more costly. Food items will cost more etc. If the monetary value goes down, since we can control this by our actions, we will try once again to regain our status.

People can put extra money in one of the many federal banks. (Example: bank of murjanica) Checks may be used; they can be ordered directly from the bank of murjanica. Credit cards and debit cards will be available for use. To uses a debit card one must have a minimum of twenty-five narfs in their bank account. This goes for checks as well. To gain a credit card one must pay all of their bills on time. As they continue to do this they will build a sweetness score. As their sweetness score increases so does their credit line. The sweetness scale will range from one to one thousand. To gain hold of a credit card one must have a minimum sweetness score of tree hundred.

Now we will explain how taxation will work in the nation of murjanica. There will be no taxation with out representation. People of the working class will pay an annual income tax. This tax will be twenty-three percent of their annual income. There will also be a tax on purchased goods such as clothes, shoes, food, sugar fuel (intended for use only in a hovercraft), homes, furniture, office supplies, books, automobiles, etc. Vendors will add this tax to the items for purchase prior to a customers purchase. In other words tax will be included in pricing of goods. These taxes will be used to better the country and keep it looking clean. Taxes will pay for any maintenance necessary on the airways and pay those who are picking up trash that has fallen on the ground. Some of this money will also support the police force and army. This money will also go towards setting up a good school system for the children.

essay one

~ Discrimination~

As a neutral nation murjanica will not allow discrimination of any type. We are not only neutral when it comes to war but also when it comes to discrimination. There will be no tolerance for racism, sexism, or distinguishing by ethnicity. We citizens of murjanica are a peaceful people and discrimination will disrupt the peace, which we intend to keep.

Job discrimination is a major issue in the world today. http://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/index.php/Employment_discrimination Many people cannot get a job because of their race or religion. How many people will think twice before hiring an employee because they happen to be from the Middle East. How many people will think twice before hiring someone because they just happen to be Muslim. http://www.adc.org/

Age discrimination is another topic of interest to many. Plenty employers do not want to hire someone of an older age. The reason is obvious of course. They are not nearly as efficient as someone who is maybe of the age of twenty. The older person has worked many more years and is usually burnt out or the fact that they are older remains. Sometime they may not be burnt out from working many years, but their body just functions slower than people of a younger age. http://www.eeoc.gov/facts/age.html

Sexual discrimination is a major issue especially today. http://www.now.org/issues/wfw/wal-mart.html But today sexual discrimination is not nearly as big of an issue as it was even twenty to thirty years ago. Just look back on colonial America. Women were not allowed to work because they were thought of to be incapable. But back in those days most of the work was physical labor which as we all know men were expected to do while their wives took care of the family and the house. http://www.wic.org/misc/history.htm

Caste discrimination may not be a major issue in America but that is not to say it does not exist, it does but not in the same form or term of caste. A better example of this would occur in many asian countries. Caste discrimination was more of a major issue back in older times but it does prevail today, just not to the same extent. Peoples in a higher caste were treated like royalty whether they really were or not by peoples in a lower caste. People in lower castes were looked down upon by anyone in a higher caste. People normally did not associate with anyone outside of their own caste. If someone in a lower caste associated with any member of a higher caste they would be severely punished. Any member of a higher caste that would socialize with a member of a caste that was lower than their own was looked down upon by the member of their own caste until they did something to redeem themselves. http://www.hrw.org/reports/2001/globalcaste/

Luckily for those of you who are citizens of the country of murjanica, there will be no need to worry about things like discrimination. We are all human beings with differences but those are the things that make each and every one of us special. We are all born into different races and religions. Some of us are male and some female. Some are blessed with a greater gift of wealth and some of us are not. But in murjanica these things will not determine the good or bad of a person. Discrimination as once mentioned previously will not be tolerated.

Powers and responsibilities

As ruler of Murjanica the king/queen will approve and supervise all current major issues occurring in the country. Anything that happens or changes for the good of the country must be approved by the king/queen, but because Murjanica is a peaceful monarchy, which respects their citizens and their opinions, the people are allowed to submit their suggestions and opinions. The ruler is only the supervisor and the major decision maker.
Below the king/queen is the Consultation Group. They are in charge of the three branches of government (legislative, executive, and judiciary) and watch over the checks-and-balances; they will also advise the ruler on major decisions. However, to assure that they do not become too powerful, any initiative taken to change a certain aspect (law, act, bill, etc.) must filter through common consent, the three houses and the ruler.

The three branches of government that reside next is the Consultation Group. They will handle anything that involves laws, justice, and government power.
There are the different departments that handle everything else. Department will include everything from Department of Agriculture, to the Department of the Fine Arts, to the Department of Food. There are minute versions of these within each of the smaller states. They will handle everything else according to their position. The ruler must approve anything major. Minor issues will go through the House of Rita, a sub-group under the departments.

Freedoms

As a monarchy, Murrains believes in equality of everyone's opinion. They then have all freedoms within the laws. The citizens are initially assured of the following rights:

The freedom of speech.

The freedom of expression.

The freedom of religion and beliefs.

The freedom of press.

The freedom of self-defense

The freedom sexual preference

The freedom to speak a language of your choice in casual conversation

The freedom to live vs. die and vice versa for medical reasons only

The freedom to buy, sell, or own private property
